During my travel to France, we had layover in Paris at Charles de Gaulle Airport. Our further journey was to a town two hours away. It was brief 3 hours stopover and we were four colleauges travelling together.
This was my second travel to foreign countries and first travel to Europe. I don’t know about the best or worst airports but I liked the first airport of Europe I have ever seen.
During those days the foreign travel was a great thing and the person visiting foreign countries was a celebrity. He used to be felicitated with a garland and a flower bouquet. It was a thing of great pride for the whole family and it used to be talk of the town.
The person used to be called foreign returned and used to get lot of respect in the society. In such era, I travelled to Europe and specially to the fashion capital of the world Paris.
With all this background, I landed in Paris and was on the Charles de Gaulle Airport. It was mesmerising for me. Actually it was overwhelming for me to see such a huge International AirPort.
The place was filled with so many huge shops very well illuminated and full with various articles arranged in attractive manner. There was separate shop for each category of items from eatables to cosmetics to electronics to clothing.
I never realised how I spent three hours of layover in watching all this. I was slowly getting to know the world. I didn’t buy anything but observing the glittering shops was a fun for me.
This first visit to an international airport was memorable for me. It was an unforgettable experience.
