What’s the best way to meet new people while traveling?

Meeting new people is the best side effect of travelling. Getting to know new people, their life journeys and their unique stories is most rewarding part of my travels.

It is not easy though, to get into someone’s life so close. You need to win his or her heart to get so close. I believe this is a great skill to win friends in such a short time.

Best way to get close with new people

In my opinion, everyone needs an ear to hear their stories. Lend them your ear and the stories will start flowing. Here it is important to note that, you don’t need to be judgemental or need not comment on their life journeys. Just listen to them and ensure you respond frequently with few words. The stranger will become your friend in no time. He will be sharing all his life stories happy and memorable ones.

Another important thing is, refrain from telling your story at this time, he is not in a mood to receive anything from you. He is in the mood of broadcasting only. So only listen and if possible show empathy.

Normally, people don’t listen to understand but they listen to respond or react. This is funny but a reality. Whenever you start sharing something, the person will immediately start sharing his story which will be better than your story.

If you avoid all these pitfalls, you can make good friends while you’re travelling. And they can remain friends forever.
