I am always out of place when my friends had heated group chats on any topic, may be Politics or current affairs.

In the WhatsApp group chats, there is always debate on varity of topics ranging from American Tariffs to Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. People put forward their views so aggressively, as if they control the world affairs.

My Principles for Group Chat

  1. Keep away from the political debates. They will take you nowhere and neither you can influence or control the happenings.
  2. Never comment on sensitive issues like Religion or Faith. People have freedom to choose their religion or faith. Nobody has authority to comment on their choice.
  3. Don’t waste your energy and time on the things you can’t control.
  4. Avoid pushing the posts which are many times forwarded. Only forward such posts, which you follow in your life.
  5. Forward only genuine and authenticated posts.

With such rules, I always feel left out in the debates. But I am happy to be away from such conversations. I feel such debates or opinion push spoils the relationships and there is some amount of labeling to the people who are so much opinianated or judgemental. Overall it’s a free dose of stress which should be kept away.

  1. It’s a strong choice, Mukund sir, to prioritise your mental peace over the need to have an aggressive opinion on every global issue. Stay happy and keep smiling—you’re doing a great job protecting your inner peace!!
