What are your favorite types of foods?

I am a foodie and loves particularly spicy and hot food. Being an Indian and vegetarian, I enjoy variety of dishes such as Rice, Chapati ( flat Indian bread ) coupled with different types of curries and dal preparations.
In India , we have special food menu for every occasion and every season. They are paired so well that we can’t separate them and enjoy. Few examples are given below
- During Padva festival ( Hindu new year ) we have Shree khand ( sweet preparation made out of hung curd ) as a special dish.
- Rainy season is always enjoyed with Madala Chai and Onion Pakode.
- Diwali ( Festival of lights ) is inseparable from Chivada , Chakali and sweet preparations.
- Puran Poli is enjoyed on few festivals such as Holi and Dussehra Festival.
However there are many other food varieties famous for the particular region. All the regional varieties are delicious and are prepared using locally grown ingredients which are suitable for the environment of the region.
Since I am on family vacation in South Indian hill station called Coorg, I will share what south delicacies we enjoyed.

Popular breakfast menu in southern region is Idli sambar, Dosa coupled with filter coffee. This is healthy as well as tasty preparation. Our fellow blogger Dr. Rajendra ( Veerites ) has helped me with the contact details of authentic south India food joint in Coorg, thanks a lot to him for this help.

In southern part of India, the main food item widely consumed is Rice preparations. It could be Rassam Rice or Sambar Rice or other varieties like Lemon rice, Tamarind rice, Tomato rice etc.

We enjoyed many varieties of popular dishes of south India. Enjoying regional cuisine is part family vacations.
