Creating a Happy Home: The Essence of Family Life

Daily writing prompt
What does your ideal home look like?

A house is a structure of brick and walls, but the home is forged by the people within it. The sentence emphasizes that a home is more than a physical space; it’s a place of love and belonging. This teaches us the value of family bonds and the emotional warmth that makes a place truly feel like home. It urges us to cherish relationships and create a loving environment.

A happy home is filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos. Home is where our story begins and where happiness never ends. In a happy home, hearts are full, and smiles are contagious.

Let us visit Sharmaji’s home, which resembles to my ideal home. Sharmaji is a retired school headmaster and living with his son and grandchildren. They have beautiful bunglow surrounded by garden. The garden is well maintained having variety of colourfull flowers and nice lake. There is a nice entry gate and walkway through the lawn to main door which takes you to varandah. It is a two story building and Sharmaji with his wife has bedroom on the ground floor whereas the son has two bedrooms on the first floor. There is pooja ghar near the dining room. Drawing room and kitchen has east facing windows, which brings early morning sunrays in the house.

Sharmaji and his wife Manorama go for daily morning walk to the nearby garden and the daughter in law keeps the Masala Chai ready before they return home. Rajeev and Sharmaji enjoy the Masala Chai in the garden while Manorama and Seema their daughter in law, are busy in the kitchen for preaparing breakfast and Tiffin for the Children. Sharmaji drops the Children to their school and Manorama packs tiffin for Rajeev in the meantime. This is their normal routine.

Children has friendly relation with Sharmaji and they regularly play with the Grandpa after finishing their home work. It was Manorama’s duty to share bedtime stories to the grandchildren.

Sunday morning used to be their fun time. Whole family goes for outing to nearby picnic spots with food packed. All of them used to enjoy together and then eat the tiffins together and return home happily.

All the festivals used to be celebrated together by the family members. Rajeev and his wife Seema used to take blessings of their parents and then the celebration used to start.

The Happy Home flourishes with Love, Kindness and care for each other. Understanding of each other’s needs and supporting each other is the key to happiness. This is how, my ideal home looks like.
