How would you describe yourself to someone who can’t see you?

Interesting prompt. Took a pause before writing the answer.
Honestly can we recognise a person by looking at him/her. Most of the time we make some perception about the person based on our pre-occupied mind. Often it is not true. So a person who can’t see you but has good vision about people and personalities can understand you better.
Now let me answer the prompt. We can use all our senses to describe ourselves. Actually this is a part of communication skill.
Soul to soul communication
This is first and most important part of interaction. Funny part is this kind of communication does not need any spoken words. Mere existence of your loved ones can understand your presence.
Official Communication
Official communication with a person who is far away from you. He can only hear you and not see you. This is a bit tricky and needs practice. Your words speak about your personality and your attitude. In my experience following steps will help such communication to be fruitful
- Always start with positive note. Study the cultural background of that foreign national before you start. Remember the time difference in your country and his. Don’t start with good morning if it is night time for him.
- First two three sentences could be about weather conditions and overall business.
- Then you can start the professional talk. Remember to mix emotions to your voice. Need good oratory skills.
- Talk slowly and ascertain that your English is well received by the other person. You can check this by asking them.
Using the senses to describe
This is the best way to describe yourself to someone who can’t see you.
Let’s start with the touch senses. Your shake hand speaks a lot about you. If the hand is cold and little wet that indicates that the person is calm and composed. Completely distressed and in a position to receive you or your thoughts. On the other hand if the shake hand is loose and not completely engaged that would mean the other person is not much interested to interact.
Even a gentle tap on the back would convey a feeling of relief for that person.
Another sense is smell – the aroma of your perfume or your cosmetics can instantly reveal your personality.
We can use so many ways to communicate and describe our personality.
Thank you for stopping by.
Stay happy and keep smiling 😊

Blind people often use senses such as touch to get to know otherwise of what the can’t recant from hearing perspective only. Somehow touch brings that communication together with understanding.
