What bothers you and why?

Our generation has little impact of social media because it wasn’t available during our growing age. Generation Z has moderate impact because they were not fully exposed during their moulding phase.
However Gen Alpha has been fully exposed to social media. Their life is highly influenced by social media platforms like Instagram or Facebook or YouTube. Slowly they started believing that whatever is presented on social media is true.
What is the Problem
Problem is the packaged food and deep fried street food. Both the food items are most unhealthy and have serious consequences on health. Today young adults are suffering from deceases like Diabetes, Obesity and heart disease due to junk food and packaged , deep fried street foods.
What is the Impact
I am bothered about the impact on their food habits or diet. I am not a qualified dietitian or nutrition expert. But the tradition of food preparation in India is very old and proven healthy.
Today the decease like Diabetes or Obesity is a pandemic. Olive oil or Other Foods are bombarded through social media.
India has rich culinary traditions that have been known to generations. We have food recipes which are seasonal delicacies. These were chosen to help the overall well being for that particular season. Now the new generation is eating the food items suggested by so called experts in the social media.
It is unfortunate and unacceptable too. It bothers me a lot.
What are the consequences
The consequences are far more severe than we think. India will be declared as obese country in few years. The obesity brings its friends along like Diabetes, Heart disease etc. When I see small packets of easy snacks hanging on any small shop shelves, it bothers me. Apart from this packaged food there is another poisonous substance sold freely on street vendors. That is Samosa or Vada or Jalebi. All these items are prepared in recycled oil which has high trans fats. Unfortunately availability of healthy snacks is poor. All the small packets of Kurkure or chips are harmful for children but they are hot selling items. The estimated market value of packaged snacks items is more than 46,570 crore Indian rupees and increasing. I don’t know the situation outside India. Readers can add in comments.
What is the way ahead
Please prepare the food items at home. Whatever you wish to eat. Don’t buy any packaged or processed food products. They are surely unhealthy for you. Follow your parent’s or grand parent’s recipes. They are definitely healthier than the packed foods. It is believed that if you eat same as your parents or grandparents parents there is little or no health risk of lifestyle decease you will develop.
Say No to packaged foods and deep fried street foods. Don’t get trapped into social medial reels or advertisements. Check whether such items or names existed during our parents time, if not keep away from such items.
Eat healthy and stay healthy
Have a great day ahead and keep smiling 😊
