I need help / suggestions / advice from you.

I have published my first short story and it was highly controversial. I was trolled by my dear ones for the behaviour of the characters. I was realy upset with reactions / comments received. It was difficult for the readers to separate the author from the charactors. People started judging me based on my characters behavoiur without realising that it is a story. Though everyone liked the story.

Do you experience the same thing when you publish the stories. Is it so difficult to express or write fictions. The story subject was very much relevant for todays youth.
