How would you improve your community?

The best way to educate the people around you is write more and more about life lessons and happy thoughts. Sharing your knowledge and wisdom will surely help communities to improve their life.

In India the literacy rate is too low. This lack of education leads to many issues like poverty, unemployment and superstitions.

I would share my knowledge through lecture sessions in education institutions. Today’s youth needs more of coaching and guidance on basic life skills. Social media has spoiled the thought process completely. Me and my wife visit the schools in nearby villages and teach them on subjects like Maths and Science. We provide them free books and other writing materials. This is a small contribution from our side for the community development.

The problems are interlinked. Lack of education results in unemployment and that results in more young men free doing nothing. Then they resort to either illegal activities or turn to drug addicts. And then the community resorts to religious rituals to resolve their daily issues. This is a dangerous trap. The best way to pull them out is educating them. Teach them fishing instead of giving them a readymade fish.

Post retirement I have decided that now it is time to give back to society. I am trying that in many ways to help communities to improve their lives.

I know it’s a long journey but first step is important. And I feel I taken my first step towards this goal.
