Trust your instincts but listen to it selectively

Do you trust your instincts?

Surely I trust my instincts and everyone should trust their instincts but the question is when they should listen to it.

Being an engineer I am used to think logically in every situation. If you use your gut feelings and decide every time it may not work. You need to assess the situation analyse and choose the best alternative for the given situation.

However in certain conditions the logic does not work. For example in relationships or when dealing with feelings, you need to listen to your guts.

My experience with instinctive decision making is, it works. Your inner voice will always guide you in difficult situations and it will work for you.

For example you are deciding to invest in a stock based on your intuition it will not work. For such decisions you need to study and decide logically.

Finally I would say Trust your instincts but listen to it selectively.
