This post is dedicated to my old house. Last week I moved to new home and handed over my old house to the new owner.
This is the expression of my gratitude to the house which gave me not only shelter but also supported me in my difficult times. We shared the joy together for almost 20 years. 4 Gaurav Pooja, was my identity for so many years. Even my government identification knows me with the same location address. And now there is change. It was difficult to handover the place to someone and say bye bye to that place.
My identity is now changed to Ashok Astoria 3B301 from 4, Gaurav Pooja. I was nervous and bit upset while leaving the place. Everyone thought that I was upset over financial deal, but the reality was, it was difficult for me to leave that place. If I have to share the exact feelings I carried at the time of leaving my old house, it was the same feeling I had while my daughter’s bidaai. Both were emotionally challenging moments, and the feelings were same.
The house was not only bricks & mortar but bundle of memories and strong companion for two decades. The house witnessed while I build my career and my family was growing & progressing. Those are the beautiful moments to be cherished for lifetime, those are fond memories attached to every corner of the room.
Shifting the house was a Herculean task and it will need another post to describe but here I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the place where I built my life. When we left the house, I visited every room and re-lived the moments with the help of memories. That was my way of saying Thank you to the place.
My mother lived in one bedroom till her last breath and that room was filled with beautiful memories of my mother. Room full of love & care for the dear ones. Room filled with lot of funny moments spent together with the kids.
The drawing room saw the whole family engrossed in study. My daughters busy with their homework & me studying my post-graduate courses. Wife always acted as a Teacher for all us.
And then my favourite place was our terrace. The terrace was large area facing the main road. There was sit out area and the view was awesome. The terrace was full of plants and the hanging pots. It used to give feel of a green forest surroundings. This area was relaxing place for me. I used to enjoy hot Masala Chai together with my on this terrace only. It was my favourite place in the house.
I know change is enevitable and it brings prosperity. You must embrace the change. I strongly remember the famous Quote by Robin Sharma :
Change is Hard at first, Messy in the middle and Gorgeous at the end. New house is surely Bigger & Better, so end is going to be Gorgeous.
Big Thank You to my house ( Our Ashiana ) for such a great support & love.
Thank you my dear readers for stopping by.
Stay Happy & kepp smiling.
