Trekking

What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

I have regular routine of physical activities like Cycling, Gymming, Table Tennis or Walking. However the most favourite of all is trekking.

Fortunately my place of stay is fully surrounded by lot of hiking trails and forts. All of these forts are trekked by our group at least once. The trekking group was formed by us with the name NAC Nashik Adventure Club. It was started by our group of 8-10 friends. Now there are more than 100 members.

I enjoy trekking for a combination of reasons that benefit my physical, mental, and social well-being. The activity offers a unique blend of adventure, self-discovery, and a return to nature that is often missing from modern urban life.

Trekking fosters deeper connections with the world and with oneself.

  • Connection with Nature: It allows you to experience the raw, untouched beauty of nature—fresh air, pristine streams, diverse ecosystems, and starry skies—which city dwellers are often deprived of.
  • Social Bonding: Trekking with others or meeting like-minded individuals on the trail creates strong bonds and lifelong friendships through shared experiences and teamwork.
  • Learning & Self-Discovery: On a trek, you learn practical survival skills, adaptability, and an appreciation for the simple necessities of life, which can offer new perspectives and personal growth that lasts long after the journey ends.

Trekking is an experience that transforms people, making them feel more alive and connected to a greater purpose.

Nashik is surrounded by numerous historic hill forts, many of which are popular trekking destinations offering panoramic views of the Sahyadri mountains. Notable forts include Ramshej, HariharPatta, and Tringalwadi Forts, each with unique historical significance and trekking challenges.

Apart from this I have trekked nearby forts like Kalsubai, Harishchandragad, Anjaneri, Brahmagiri and many more.

I completed Sinhagad before retirement. It was a great experience. Trekking Sinhagad from backside and not by climbing the stairs. It took almost 4 hours to complete the hike and come back to base.

Thank you my dear readers for stopping by

Stay Happy and keep smiling 😊
