Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

This prompt reminded me of the definition of Price and Value, which I learned in my executive MBA in Economics. Let me explain, Price is the amount of money we pay for an item, while value is the benefit or worth that we perceive.
So for me the most valuable item I poses is, my Father’s Day card prepared by my little daughter. The whole story is interesting and bit emotional too.
I think my younger daughter was hardly 12 years old. Me or my wife were not aware of or used to celebrating these days. So we were totally unaware of any plan being made for this crafts card.
My little daughter was behind her mom to buy some crafts paper and glue etc. she has finally included her mom in the secret plan. I remember the preparation of the card was being done secretly in children’s room and my entry was based in that room. I was curious but not able to disobey the daughter’s instructions.
The expressions on my daughter’s face were like she is on some secret mission and she was proud to be leading that mission.
Finally the day arrived, and I got up from bed. Daughter came to my room and wished me good morning. I was bit surprised to hear that because it was not normal to receive morning wishes from her. She knew that once I get up and set to my exercise routine then I wouldn’t be available till evening. So she came to my room. But she didn’t wish me directly and started putting puzzles to me. She asked me, did you remove the pillow and I said no. She said look if anything is there below the pillow. I was bit confused, what is happening. But my daughter was smiling like a naughty girl.
Finally I looked below my pillow and found this card. The card was best crafted piece for her age. It was neatly decorated with love. The writing was like “ Best dad in the world”. I did not believe for a moment that the card was made by my little princess. Such a love and warmth it carried, I was speechless for a moment.
The overall act was so childish but I got engaged in the act and enjoyed it thoroughly. The joy in her eyes was so infectious that we all laughed a lot and loved it.
Gave her tight hug and said thank you dear. She was so happy that daddy liked her card and she went out dancing like she has won the World Cup.
For me this most valuable item I have with me. Other expensive items like iPhone or music system etc give us short lived pleasure but such gifts are priceless.
Thank my dear readers for stopping by
Stay happy & keep smiling 😊
