Every time you tackle a challenge through hard work and succeed or even just make significant progress, you prove to yourself that you are capable. You learn that you can overcome obstacles, learn new things, and achieve your goals if you put your mind and effort into it.

I have never chased success in my life, I tried to add value or make progress towards the goal. I started my life from the Chawl culture with very little resources or knowledge or guidance to achieve big in life. But I have always challenged myself and achieved big with hard work and relentless efforts. The struggle to prove myself kept me going in every challenge I faced.

In my professional life, many projects were completed in record lead time with limited resources but never looked for external appreciation from seniors. At times, I used to define challenging goals for myself and the team, and struggle to achieve them.

I still remeber the story of Western Regional Conference held by our IIMM branch. I was Chairman of the branch and accepted the challenge to host the conference. Our branch being small and not experienced with such events, the National President was woried. But I wanted to prove myself that I can mobilise large groups and achieve the financial gains for the Institute. Me and the team worked hard and achieved great success. The fund mobilisation was highest and the conference was successfull. I was happy to prove myself that I can Do it. That is the taste of success for me.

There is no shortcut to success. The only way is Hardwork. I strongly believe in this saying. Right from my childhood till my retirement, I did not achieve anything by chance, I have to put in hard efforts to achieve what I had planned. Another reason for the success I got is my risk appetite. I am a risk taker and do not hesitate to walk in high risk terrain.

In the professional as well as personal life the success always played Hide & Seek with me. It was the journey of lot of struggle and full of challenges. May be because I was outspoken and not following Boss Pleasing policy. I hate lies and don’t like window dressing. I have never opted for non compliant work to please the bosses. As such the only way for success was Hard Work and results.
