I can’t imagine my life without music. I am not a singer or not even a bathroom singer but I love music. The list of genres I enjoy is endless, but the life without any kind of music will be boring and muted. Allen Walker will be silenced when I travel or go on a long drive. The gazals of Gulam Ali or Jagjit Singh or Pankaj Udhas are integral part of my long travel. If I mute them, it will be like watching a movie without any sound.
My nature walks will be muted, I will not hear the birds chirping or the sound of cool breeze on the top of the mountains. Life will be meaningless, it will be like my soul is taken away from me.
In a world without music, the human esxperience would loose a fundamental element of it’s emotional depth, cultural identity and social connection. Without this powerful and universal art form, life would be muted and will be less vibrant, where silence replaces the soundtrack of human joy, sorrow and celebrations.
Music’s effect on human emotions and mental states is deeply ingrained in our biology. In a world without it, humans would face significant psychological challenges.
In essence, life without music would be like a movie without a soundtrack, where the dramatic moments and quiet interludes lose their intensity. Music serves not only as a backdrop to our lives but also as a powerful tool for healing, expression and connection. It’s absence would leave an unfillable void, reminding us that it’s presence is not merely an luxury but a vital component of what means to be human.
