I do not know much about athletes or their careers. But during my young age, P. T. Usha was famous athletes in India. It was a time when this sport or the athletes were not so much popular in India, during such times PT Usha brought accolades for the country. I have high respect for her.

PT Usha – Pilavullakandi Thekkeparambil Usha to use her full name – is one of India’s greatest athletes, often called the country’s “queen of track and field”. A graceful sprinter with long strides, she dominated Asian track-and-field events for most of the 1980s, winning 23 medals in all, 14 of which were gold.

PT Usha, who missed an Olympic medal by a whisker, is one of the most decorated athletes in Indian history. The Kerala sprinter was coached by the famous OM Nambiar. With a cabinet full of international medals and accolades, PT Usha is a bonafide Indian track and field legend.
