What brings a tear of joy to your eye?

Thanks WP for such a wonderful prompt. What brings tears of joy to your eyes and what act of yours bring tears of joy to the eyes of others.

There are few moments when tears of joy rolled down my eyes. I am a practical person and rarely exhibit my emotions. I think it would be true for all men. They struggle with all the challenges of life tirelessly but never show up on their face. They fight with the world for well-being of their families but never show their emotions to others. But at the bottom of their heart there is huge collection of such memories which bring tears of joy to their eyes. These moments are cherished when they are alone and thinking. But above all, there are few moments when the emotions are so strong that you can’t stop the tears to roll down. I will share such moments of joy which brought tears to my eyes in public and I couldn’t stop them or hide them.

Daughter’s wedding

Last year my elder daughter got married. I remember the time when we all were gathered at the main gate of the marriage hall to say goodbye to her. That is the time when I couldn’t control my emotions. It is very difficult to part with your loved ones, whom you have nurtured for almost 30 years. Overnight her identity changes, her hero changes from a father to the husband. Even though it is a natural process but difficult to digest for a father. Typically there is strong bonding between father and daughter and with this background, saying bye bye is so difficult. 😥

Dean’s Award

My younger daughter was given Special Dean’s appreciation award for her scholarly work at her university during her Masters degree. We were present for the award ceremony in United States at her university. When the name was announced, I was so emotional that I could not control my tears, of course tears of joy. Her journey from childhood to the masters rolled out in front of my eyes. This was a proud moment for all of us.

My act of kindness brought tears

Yesterday our maid came late after completing work of her other peoples. She looked quite tired and exhausted. I asked her, when have you started your work and have you taken your breakfast. She said, Uncle I had started very early today and had no time to eat anything. I will eat once I finish the work at your house. Then I told my wife that first give some snacks to her and then let her start the work.

And gave her a plate full of snacks to eat. My wife told her to eat peacefully and then she can start the work, no hurry. And she started crying. Tears rolled out of her eyes. I was bit worried as to what happened, but she said I have visited 4 houses since morning but no one even bothered to ask me about my breakfast and your act of kindness, brought tears to my eyes thank you 🙏

Life is full of such beautiful moments, enjoy it to the fullest.
