Overcoming Family Struggles: A Personal Interview

Interview someone — a friend, another blogger, your mother, the mailman — and write a post based on their responses.

Every person has a unique story. The perceptions formed from his appearance can be often deceptive. Connect with him for more insight. This is sch a story, coming out of a personal interview.

Evening time for me is Table Tennis time and our group of 6 people play together. Two of them were my colleagues in the office and others are only TT friends. We know little about each other. No much interaction other than hi or hello.

One of the friends whom I did not know well, but I was curious to know about him was interviewed by me today morning. I was curious to know more about him because his overall appearance and the game he plays is aggressive. And looks like high headed person.

When I asked him about his life story, he was bit hesitant but then I assured him that it would be great if you share. Somehow he agreed.

I was amazed to hear his story and could not believe my ears. In today’s world there are such people existing. Let us hear his story now – he said

My family is filthy rich and my father was famous Attorney ( Lawyer) of a metro city. He earns well and has huge investments in real estate and shares. We are total three siblings – one sister and one brother. Including myself total three.

We were brought up in typical traditional family and disciplined lifestyle. I became an Architect and my brother was an engineer. Eventually both of us got married and settled in life. I have two daughters and my brother has one daughter and one son. In the early age when my daughters were just born, my father announced his will.

In the will he categorically mentioned that the son who has two daughters will not get a single penny from my property. I don’t want my money to land in someone else’s house. All my property goes to my younger son. My friend said this was so shocking for me that I could not even explain my father. But still I tried to tell him that girls and boys are equal but he was adamant and he asked me to leave the home.

That day I left my house with one suitcase and my daughters and wife. Later I came to know that my brother was also part of the conspiracy against me. The whole experience was painful for me. I couldn’t believe that my own brother and father would behave in such an inhuman manner with me. Actually I wasn’t worried about the money or property but the brother played dirty trick for property forgetting blood relations, this was hurting me.

Finally I came to terms of life thinking about my daughters. And decided that day, my daughters will not only make me proud but also to the world.

It was a hard struggle for all us to settle down in small town and prove to ourselves. But all of us gave tough fight together. My wife supported me well and looked after the two princes very well. I used to focus on my profession and she used to take care of the daughter and education. My daughters are good in sports. They played state level football and won the trophy. At the same time elder one was first in state scholarship and younger one was topper in talent search exam.

We have sacrificed our social life and enjoyments for our daughters and we are proud of them. Such contented feelings.

And I can proudly say that they were always school toppers and university toppers and doing well in their career. One daughter is working as a CEO in a big Fin corp and another is vice President in US company. He was bit sentimental during this narration. I was speechless for few seconds.

Then I asked him about his father and brother. He said my father passed away due to severe diabetes and brother is struggling with insulin. Our complete family has diabetic history but by gods grace I am saved.

I am famous architect in the city and my family is doing very well. I am quite healthy and living active life at this age.

I was moved by his story and my belief reinforced that everybody has unique story to tell.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post.

Stay happy and keep smiling 😊
