First blog in this series is dedicated to my younger daughter Gayatri on her 25th Birthday.

You are Remarkable

I am a bit emotional and nostalgic while writing this blogpost. 25 years passed by so fast. I still remember the day you were born. I was present outside the operation theatre, impatiently waiting for the result. After long wait the doctor announced the good news of your arrival. Such a chubby little girl. I thanked god for the wonderful gift. Our home was filled with two little princess.

Gayatri, you have been a fighter always. We have changed your school three times. That means the struggle of making new friends and proving yourself repeated three times. Every time you came out with flying colours. You are Remarkable.

While choosing professional course after your junior college, you chose the unusual path of Pharmacy and Clinical Research. And you performed very well in the college. More commendable was your active participation in all extra curricular activities. May it be, the College Radio or Industry projects. I can’t forget your courageous decision to work as a volunteer in Covid Care Centre. No doubt you collected a bundle of blessings but taking a health risk. I always encouraged freedom and individuality for both of you. Still, you always looked at me for the approval of your decisions. Once you saw positive response from me. you went on to conquer the world. Believe in yourself, You are Remarkable.

The days we spent together in Kothrud, Pune created a bond of friendship between us. We used to laugh a lot on the stories you shared about your college and friends. You were open & transparent in discussing the issues of teenagers like affairs and break ups. The trust we developed was unshakable. I enjoyed your culinary skills during our stay in Pune away from home in Nashik. I can’t forget the delicious Chole and Parathas you prepared. You are Remarkable.

Your decision to go to US for higher studies was well thought of. It was result of systematic and structured research and analysis by you. Saying good bye for your journey was surely painful but delightful at the same time. Again you landed in new territory with the new people. But your perseverance and determination helped you to get special Deans award in your Masters course. You are Remarkable.

When you received Special Deans Award for your performance I said “We are Proud of you Gayatri” and your reply was I am so happy that I could make you proud, I was struggling for this all the time. Then I realised that you were trying to compare yourself o your sister’s achievements. But let me tell you that every person is unique and special. We are proud of your accomplishments.

Now you are working hard to achieve success in your career. You have great potential and you will achieve great success. You are a good communicator and having good networking skills. You are caring and kind hearted person. These qualities will help you achieve your dreams.

At this point I would say-

Believe in yourself. You are Remarkable.
