What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?

This is almost 35 years old story. I still remember the date 10.10.1989. And it was lunch date with my fiancée.
Both of us are brought up in a typical middle class families. There was no culture of eating out. My father used to take us out once a year and we used eat Masala Dosa in the same place for years together. Even today we rarely go out for lunch or dinner. You will surprised to know that I haven’t tasted Pizza or Burger or Pasta yet, not even noodles.
coming back to the lunch date. Back those days, Boy & Girl even though engaged, were not allowed to gw out together till they are married. Somehow we got permission from our parents only after the engagement ceremony to go oout. I wanted to discuss with her, many things about future plans and get to know her likings. So finally I booked a table for two of us in a most expensive restaurant in the city. I had explained him the importance of this lunch and requested him to organise corner table with soft music.
We spent almost 3 to 4 hours together and discussed everything including relationships, future plans and personal preferences. Actually these courtship days are golden days. Both the partners are trying to offer best of their posessions to each other. Such days won’t come back again. We enjoyed the delicious food coupled with our intense discussion. The ambience was great with the soft music played and sitting in a undisturbed corner. We were unaware of what is happening around us becuase we were fully engrossed in ourselves. She was impressed with the arrangement and efforts taken by me for ensuring small details.
The meal was full course right from soup to desert. Specially selected. But honestly, I don’t remember what we ate that time or what was the hefty price I paid.
But the date was memorable and romantic begining of our long lasting relationship.
I am not sure whether it can be called a date or not. You can suggest in comments.
