Ticket to Antartica

If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

One day Raju came home fully excited and started dancing holding Vasant’s hands. He was so happy and joyful. Vasant asked the reason for his happiness and he said guess what, I got two flight tickets free from my garage owner. Vasant did not believe that and he asked how it is possible, then Raju replied , I repaired the car of a rich person and he was very happy. This is the gift given by that car owner for my good work. And then both were happily dancing.

Raju and Vasant were childhood friends. They did schooling together and now landed in nearby town for earning daily living. Raju was working in a garage as mechanic and Vasant was a clerk in the office.

They come from a small village in Central India where the summer season would be harsher and had low rainfall. The only source of income was farming. However due to low rainfall it was too difficult to grow crops. Somehow the families survived.

Raju has a dream that one day he will visit a place to see huge snow and enjoy playing with snow. He has never seen snow in his life.

Vasant asked him where will we go? Raju said off course to my dream destination where I will see only snow all around. Vasant said then we will have to go to Antartica. And both landed in Antartica with a free ticket.

The captain said we have arrived in Antartica and now you will have to travel with small boats. Both of them got into the small boat for further travelling. Raju was so happy to see snow everywhere and the big holders of snow. He was looking around at the Penguins and snow cladded mountains. He was fully excited. And then Vasant started throwing water on him. It was too cold but Vasant was still playing with water and splashing water on Raju.

Raju started shouting at Vasant hey the water is too cold yaar. And then he could hear Vasant shouting at him and telling him to get up. He said you will be late for your duty, please get up now and get ready.

Then Raju realised that he was seeing a dream and then he got up.

He said at least I visited my favourite destination in my dreams.

He said to himself that there is nothing like free lunch in this world. I have to earn my living.
