Unforgettable trip to Tadoba

Describe your most memorable vacation.

We were all excited for this tour because it was for the first time we were visiting to any Tiger reserve.

We were group of 10 friends and all of them were Photography enthusiasts. we made a WhatsApp group for better communication. The group was full of messages. Queries and doubts. Funny questions and childish doubts. It was great entertainment.

I was also excited for the tour and busy packing my bags. Normal Clothes, camouflaged clothing, shoes, eatables and camera gears. Too many items to pack. I started packing almost a week in advance. My family members were laughing at me saying that I am behaving like a school going kid preparing for picnic. But it was true.

And finally we were at the railway station to board the train. Everyone was curious and excited. Finally we boarded the train and started our journey. We all were seated together. we enjoyed the tiffin together and sang songs. The excitement was at peak.

Finally we arrived at the destination and drove down to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. It was dense and beautiful jungle. The drive to the resort was through forest, there was complete silence. We were experiencing the feel of the jungle. Birds chirping and cool breeze. The sounds of wild animals in between were disturbing the silence. We reached the resort and finished our lunch. The resort owner informed us that for last 10 days he is sending the Safari jeeps to the forest but there was no Tiger sightings. It added to our nervousness.

We started our first Safari in the afternoon. With the great expectations and with prayers to god we entered the jungle. Then the guide started explaining about the forest flora and fauna. It was interesting information. On the way we saw Sloth Beer and lots of spotted dears. Few birds and peacocks. For a moment we forgot the thought of Tiger sighting. Then the driver stopped at water pond and said we will wait here for sometime because the Tiger comes here for drinking water. We were waiting for an hour or so and observing the jungle silently. But anxious to see the king of jungle.

Suddenly the driver said he is hearing the call and probably tiger is nearby. We were all set to click that king of jungles. And then he appeared slowly near the pond. My heart stopped beating for a moment when I saw that magnificent creature live. He wasn’t bothered about our presence. Initially we were only looking at the animal and did not click the pictures. Then after settling down we clicked many pictures from different angles. It was a memorable experience. we were all very happy with the sighting and thanked the Safari driver.

Next day again we went for a Safari to another zone. Again with a hope to see another tiger. After the jeep entered the park, our driver got a call of sighting the tigress. Then he drove to that area. And we saw the queen of Tadoba – Maya Tigress in the pond. Such a beautiful and gorgeous look. She was famous amongst wildlife photographers. She was also friendly to the photographers. We got good photos and the tour was highly successful.

This was my best vacation.
