What do you do to be involved in the community?

I support CSR wing of our company focusing Women Empowerment Initiatives. Recently I condcuted Endline Assessment for various projects they carried out on Women Empowerment.

I have been actively associated with community on various projects. Being chief coordinator for Projects, I work upon identification of need, assessment of required funds and then project execution. I have completed various projects ranging from Primary Health Center installation, Community Hall construction, School classroom construction and recently on women empowerement initiatives.

Women Empowerement Initiatives

The main objectives were :

1. Women’s Empowerement & Social Equity
2. Improvement in household income
3. Women participation in decision making
4. Improvement in livelihood.

During primary assessment I found that even today the freedoam or independance from Male dominance would be a dream for the underpreviledged women residing just 50 miles away from big city. The situations in the villages was pathetic. They were only dependant on farming which was solely controlled by nature ( Rainwater ). Indian Government has various schemes to support such people but the villagers were unaware of these schemes.

We have established a program called Integrated Village Development and installed a community development center in each vollage. This has ensured the effective reach of all govwernmental schemes to each vollager.

At the same time various training programes for women were conducted like Cake making workshop, Tailoring skill training and entrepreneurial training. Further trainings were conducted for Girls & women were Menstrual Hygiene, Domestic Violence & Female Rights and Self Defence for Girls.

When I conducted the assessment, villagers were happy to see the help & support they received. This was just begining, we need to do more.

Now the next focus area would be education. Very close to our city there are various villages and the children are deprived of basic education. We need to donate books and support them on the basic education. This is how I am regularly involed in community develoipment.
