Social Media – double sided sword

How do you use social media?

Social media tools are like a double edged sword. It can be used as a great tool for networking and knowledge management. However it has other side which is more addictive and life destroying.

Benefits

Social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn are popular for knowledge sharing and networking.

These platforms are used as e-commerce tools for businesses. They are highly effective for the startup community.

Expressing the thoughts and sharing can be easily done through sites like WordPress and blogposts.

Keeping yourself updated with current affairs has become easier than ever before.

You can learn many skills from the internet and improve yourself.

Negative side

Social media can be extremely toxic if not used judiciously.

Youths can get addicted and loose the focus completely ruining their studies and careers.

Other side of expression is trolling others. This is so humiliating and disgusting that the person can slip into depression. This can ruin his life.

Due to social media addiction many youngsters are hooked to mobile till late nights resulting in health issues like Diabetes and obesity.

Conclusion

Social media should be used responsibly and in moderation. It can be powerful tool for self development.

I use mainly Facebook and Instagram for sharing & learning my Photography.

I use YouTube videos extensively to explore new places.

Daily use of WordPress for sharing my thoughts through blogging.

Happy Sunday 😊
