Gajanan – Lord Ganesh

What is your middle name? Does it carry any special meaning/significance?

In India, particularly in Maharashtra state the middle name is fathers name. First name is the given name and middle name is father’s name and last is Surname. Normally surname denotes the place where you belong to.

Significance of my middle name or my father’s name is immense in my life. Because of him I could see this world. He was a great personality. His life principle was “Simple living high thinking”. When I look back at his life journey, it is amazing. I can’t believe how he has managed so many family commitments like education & marriage of 4 siblings. And above all education and marriage of his 5 children. Still he was successful in his profession. He retired as Super class 1 officer in Government of India industries department. I can’t forget the life lessons he taught me by his acts like Honesty is the best policy, Importance of education and Empathy towards humankind.

The name Gajanan comes from popular Hindu god Ganesh or Elephant God. He is the vighnaharta the obstacle remover. He is also god of knowledge. Before you begin any activity or project he is first worshiped for successful completion of the task. We have popular Ganesh festival celebrated all over India for 10 days. It is best opportunity for social gatherings and festive times.

Enjoy your weekend and keep smiling 😊
