Write about a few of your favorite family traditions.

India has rich & diversified culture and traditions. India is country of celebrations. The culture & traditions are so diversified that every state celebrates in different way. But integral part of these traditions is celebration.
In these celebrations all d relatives and families gather together. Every celebration includes the art performances by the guests. Like singing or dance or some folk arts.
I am happy to share that each festival in India has some connection with the nature and environment. The food served as Prasad to god has health significance for the particular season. Even the spices used in Indian kitchen differ for each season like different ingredients in Winter and different for Summer.
The list of festivals is huge but I mention few important ones
- Makar Sankranti
- Gudi Padwa
- Holi & Festival of colours
- Festival of Rakshabandhan
- Gauri & Ganapati festival
- Diwali celebrations
All the festivals mentioned above are celebrated by all Hindu families across India. Our family also celebrates all d above festivals every year.
The tradition followed during Gauri Ganapati festival by our family is my favourite. This celebration is celebrated for 5 days. On one day we invite all our relatives and friends for dinner. It is very good gathering and the food served is special with 5 types of sweet dishes called ‘Panchpakwanna’ . This gathering helps families to connect with each other and share the well being .

Every tradition followed by families across India teaches some values to the growing children in the house. Important values like respect for elders, Sharing, care for others and fun together.
Happy celebrations.
