What brings Success – Luck or Efforts

This is highly controversial topic and there are advocates of both the options. Many people feel that only luck helps you to get the success and others feel that you only need efforts for the success.

People also talk about smart efforts or conscious efforts. My thoughts are a bit different. without offending any of the thoughts I have developed innovative mathematical formula for success.

It is universally said that you only need luck to get success in what you are doing. But luck does not come automatically or only by prayers. Then what is luck . We understand luck by taking help of mathematics.

So if we accept that only luck can make you successful then let us dive deep and understand luck more clearly. So luck is actually multiplication of efforts and opportunities. To put it in formula

Luck = Efforts x Opportunities

Let us understand this better. For getting success efforts are very important but only efforts can’t bring success. So you need to identify right opportunities and make efforts to encash the opportunity.

So make efforts in right direction. The direction has to be in reaching the goal and use the 80/20 principle. Let me elaborate this principle. It says that only 20% of the causes are responsible to bring 80% effects. That means you should identify those 20% of the topics which will impact 80% of the success. And I think these are the smart efforts. In other words if you spend your energy on 80% of the things then it will help for the success but in a limited way. So look for those 20% and success is yours.

Now let me elaborate more on opportunities. It can be internal or external. Identifying them is a skill and you have to be alert all the time and keep your eyes and ears open. Many times a big problem also can be converted into opportunity. It is seen frequently that people wait for the opportunity as if it will come to them saying please grab me. In reality this does not happen. You have to be extremely alert to see the opportunity. Even the toughest situation can be turned to an opportunity for the success.

So keep making the efforts and keep looking for the opportunities then success is yours.
